How to Make Zooming a Little Less Lame
Oh, what a weak little Zoomer I've been this entire year! Yes, I've seen others with their virtual backgrounds of beach scenes and antique libraries, but I've just been going au natural with mine.
Until tonight.
I have bookshelves behind me, so it's actually a pretty natural set up. I've even left a wall blank over one shoulder so if I record videos I can go in later and put in captions. I thought I was on the ball. But tonight my sister asked if I had any books to donate for a good cause and good Lord DO I HAVE BOOKS. I had actually been thinking about lightening my load so I packed up seven canvas bags of books. Which meant that my office bookshelf needed to be rearranged.
I spent all evening doing it and then turned on my Zoom to see how it looked in the background. And it was okay. But I thought I could surely do better.
So, I started searching for cute little shabby chic backgrounds and my world opened up. And immediately made me feel inadequate.
I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT THIS ENTIRE TIME I COULD HAVE HAD A ZOOM MEETING...
...from jail...
...at the Rosebud Motel...
...or live from Four Seasons Landscaping!
I COULD HAVE BEEN...
...the hot girl...
...one of the Brady Bunch...
...or Steve Carell from The Office!
I truly feel like an idiot for spending this entire year as myself in my own house. But no more! If you have a meeting scheduled with me, be prepared to see me in Seinfeld's living room or hanging out with the Tiger King.
